Chepstow House School, Lancaster Road, London, UK
This bespoke evening has been designed to welcome new and prospective parents into the heart of our school.
During the evening, you can expect:
We are firmly committed to being inclusive and to giving every child the best possible start in life. Irrespective of their special educational needs or disability (SEND), we consider all children for admission to the school who have the ability and aptitude to access an academic curriculum. Pupils whose SEND are suited to the curriculum are welcome provided that we have the appropriate resources and facilities to offer them the support they require. Further details of our policies can be found here.
1. Nursery & Reception (2+ and 4+)
Entry at these levels is non-selective. There are no entrance exams or play-day assessments.
The Process: Places are offered strictly based on the date of registration.
The Strategy: To secure a “definite place,” you should register your child as early as possible—often immediately after birth.
Definite Places: The school allocates a set number of definite places for each birth month. Once these are filled, any further registrations for that month go onto a waiting list.
2. 7+ Entry (Year 3)
Because the school is “all-through” to Year 6, 7+ entry only happens if there are occasional vacancies.
The Assessment: If a spot is available, candidates must sit a formal assessment:
Written Papers: English (Reading, Comprehension, and Writing), Mathematics, and Reasoning (Verbal and Non-Verbal).
Taster Morning: A morning spent in a Year 2 classroom to observe the child’s social interaction and “teachability.”
3. Occasional Vacancies (Years 1, 2, 4, and 5)
Entry into other years is rare and depends entirely on a current student leaving.
1. Nursery & Reception (2+ and 4+)
Chepstow House operates a first-come, first-served registration policy.
2. 7+ Entry (Year 3 Occasional Vacancy)
Entry at Year 3 is selective and depends on current students leaving.
