You are warmly invited to attend our SIxth Form Open Evening.
This event is designed for prospective Sixth Form students and their families. At Ardingly College, we offer a choice of A Levels, the International Baccalaureate, and BTEC courses. The event provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about what the College has to offer, take a tour of the school, and meet our students, teaching staff, and members of the admissions team.
We provide support that is structured, compassionate and fully integrated into school life. Our specialist Learning Support teachers are experienced in working with a wide range of learning profiles and use evidence-based methods to strengthen core skills. We ensure pupils receive the right level of help at the right time, while still encouraging independence and ambition.
What We Offer:
Year 9 Entry (13+)
Ardingly operates a deferred entry model, where the primary selection phase is conducted while the candidate is in Year 6. This early assessment allows families to secure a place well in advance of the transition to Senior School.
Sixth Form Entry (16+)
Admission to the Sixth Form is predicated on a high standard of academic achievement at GCSE (or equivalent) and demonstrated professional potential during the interview phase.
International Requirements
For students transitioning from non-UK curricula, the College provides a structured assessment route to ensure academic and linguistic readiness.
13+ Entry Key Dates (Year 9, 2029)
Ardingly utilizes a deferred entry model, meaning students applying for 2029 must complete the process while in Year 6.
Sixth Form admissions are prioritized early in the academic year to facilitate subject selection and scholarship allocation.
Outstanding Sixth Form Results
The Class of 2025 share remarkable outcomes: our IB Diploma cohort achieved an average of 40.1 points, placing Ardingly among the top five schools in the UK and within the top 10 globally for the IB (out of over 5,600 institutions). Particular congratulations to the 19 students who achieved straight A*s and As at A-Levels, as well as to the 24 students who scored 40 or over in the IB Diploma.
In our vocational pathway, 100% of BTEC results were at Distinction* or Distinction grades, continuing our 100% top-two-grade record.
Ardingly’s Year 11 students are celebrating achieving some fantastic GCSE results! A remarkable 76% of all grades were awarded the top grades of 9-7 (the equivalent of the previous A* and A grades) and the average grade achieved by our students was 7.44, which is our highest ever for a non-Covid year.
Special congratulations are due to the nine students who achieved straight 9s, while over half (53%) of all grades were graded 9s or 8s.
Domestic Higher Education (UK)
The majority of Ardingly graduates (approximately 85% to 90%) choose to continue their studies within the UK, consistently securing places at Russell Group and Sutton Trust 30 institutions.
International Trajectories
As a top-tier International Baccalaureate (IB) school, Ardingly supports an increasing number of students in pursuing ambitious academic goals outside the UK.
