Entry Requirements

The school is academically selective, utilizing a holistic review process for all applicants.

Year 7 (11+) & Year 9 (13+): Admission is based on the ISEB Common Pre-test (English, Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning), a personal interview with a senior staff member, and a confidential reference from the candidate’s current Headteacher.

Year 10 (Pre-GCSE): Focused on international students or those seeking an intensive one-year transition; requires subject-specific assessments and English proficiency testing.
Sixth Form (16+): * A Levels/IB: Generally requires a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 6 or above.

Subject Specifics: A Grade 7 is typically required in subjects intended for study at Higher Level (IB) or A Level (particularly in Mathematics and Sciences).

International Students: Candidates must provide a UKiset profile or sit the school’s internal EAL (English as an Additional Language) assessments.

Year 7 Entry (11+)

The assessment process for Year 7 occurs during the candidate’s Year 6.

  • Scholarship & Bursary Application Deadline: Friday, 13 November 2026.
  • Entrance Assessment Day: Saturday, 16 January 2027.
  • Offer Notification: Early February 2027.

Year 9 Entry (13+)

Leighton Park offers both immediate Year 9 entry and deferred places for students currently in Year 6.

  • Registration Deadline: Friday, 13 November 2026.
  • Assessment Day: Wednesday, 25 November 2026.
  • Offer Notification: Late December 2026 or January 2027.

Sixth Form Entry (16+)

Admissions for the Sixth Form (A Level or IB Diploma) are prioritized early in the academic year.

  • Registration Deadline: Monday, 9 November 2026.
  • Scholarship Application Opening: Monday, 7 September 2026.
  • Assessment Day: Wednesday, 18 November 2026.
  • Specialist Scholarship Assessments (Art, Music, Sport): Conducted between 30 November and 4 December 2026.
  • Offer Notification: Mid-December 2026.

International Applications

  • Rolling Admissions: Applications for international students are considered on a rolling basis from September through March. Early registration is strongly recommended to facilitate visa processing and boarding placement.
  • Professional Note: All registrations must be submitted via the school’s online Admissions Portal. Please note that the registration fee is non-refundable (£150 for UK residents; £225 for non-EEA international residents).

Results

A Level (2025): 40% of all grades were A/A*, with a 68% A–B* rate. Notable departmental success was seen in STEAM subjects and the Arts (with Art, Drama, and Dance achieving 100% A*–B).

International Baccalaureate (2025): Students achieved an impressive average score of 36 points, significantly above the global average.

GCSE (2025): 59% of grades were awarded at 9–7 (A/A equivalent)*.

BTEC/CTEC: The Sport department achieved a 100% A–A* equivalent pass rate.

University Enrollment:

  • 45% of students matriculated to Russell Group universities (including LSE, Durham, Bristol, and Bath).
  • 62% of graduates moved into STEAM-related degrees, reflecting the school’s award-winning STEAM focus.
