We are very pleased to arrange individual visit itineraries for families interested in 13+ Boarding, 13+ Day and 16+ Entry
A typical itinerary will include a meeting with a senior member of the Admissions team, a tour of one or two Houses hosted by the Housemaster or Housemistress, including lunch, and a tour of some of the campus. If there are any specific areas of the School you like to see, please do let us know.
The Head of Admissions gives two pieces of standard advice:
The focus of a visit should first and foremost be to find the right school for your son or daughter. And if you decide Rugby is the right School, we are confident your child will be happy in any of our Houses.
The campus is very large and any visit will involve quite a lot of walking, so do wear comfortable shoes!
Our aim is to ensure that all students achieve their full potential and overcome any challenges they may experience with their learning. We provide for students with a range of learning difficulties and those whose first language is not English, tailoring support to their needs.
We offer a range of levels of support for students including:
Several lessons per week in place of one subject option in a small group (maximum size 5)
Individual weekly sessions with Learning Development support teachers
Individual support sessions for pupils who request help for specific difficulties they are experiencing.
Teachers will use a wide range of resources, including computer software such as ClaroRead, Dragon voice recognition system and mind-mapping programmes, alongside more traditional books and materials, to help students develop their learning, and particularly their literacy skills.
Classroom teachers also have regular INSET training to enable them to provide for students with learning difficulties in their classroom and teachers are kept informed of the strengths, needs and strategies they can use to provide for each student.
The support we offer also includes English as a Foreign Language, as well as Specific Learning Difficulties. The Learning Development staff work with students to develop their English, also offering the classroom teachers advice on how to provide for these students. We can help prepare students for IELTS examinations ahead of moving into a British university.
Entry at 13+ requires the ISEB Common Pre-Test, school reports, and interview. Entry at 16+ requires a minimum of three Grade 7s and three Grade 6s at GCSE (or equivalent).
Entrance Exams/Interviews: Typically held in November (16+) and January (13+).
Consistently high-achieving; historically, over 80% of A-Level/IB entries achieve A*–B or equivalent.
High matriculation to Russell Group, Oxbridge, and top-tier US universities (e.g., Ivy League).
