1. DEFINITIONS
“School” or “Subscriber” means the educational institution that registers for a Premium Listing.
“Premium Listing” means the paid annual subscription service allowing a School to publish and promote its open day information on the Website.
“Promotional Period” means the first 30 days following registration, during which the School may use the Premium Listing without charge and may cancel without liability.
“Subscription Fee” means the annual fee for the Premium Listing, as set out in the Order Form or on the Website.
“Website” means https://schoolopendays.co.uk/ and any associated subdomains.
2. APPLICATION OF THESE TERMS
2.1. These Terms govern the legal relationship between us and the School from the moment the School registers for a Premium Listing.
2.2. By registering, the School agrees to be bound by these Terms. The Premium Listing will be activated immediately upon registration, subject to Clause 4 (Promotional Period).
2.3. These Terms apply to the exclusion of any other terms that the School seeks to impose or incorporate.
3. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
3.1. We provide an online platform connecting Schools with prospective parents and students interested in UK school open days.
3.2. The Premium Listing includes publication of the School’s open day details, enhanced visibility, and access to management tools.
3.3. We reserve the right to modify features with 30 days’ notice.
4. SUBSCRIPTION TERM, PROMOTIONAL PERIOD & RENEWAL
4.1. Subscription Term: The Premium Listing subscription runs for 12 months from the date of registration (“Subscription Term”), regardless of the date on which payment is actually made.
4.2. Promotional Period (30-Day Free Evaluation):
- Upon registration, the School will receive immediate access to the Premium Listing.
- No payment is due during the first 30 days.
- No invoice will be issued during the Promotional Period.
4.3. Cancellation During Promotional Period: The School may cancel its subscription at any time during the Promotional Period by giving written notice to help@schoolopendays.co.uk. If cancelled within the Promotional Period:
- No invoice will be issued;
- No Subscription Fee will be payable;
- The Premium Listing will be suspended or removed at the end of the 30th day;
- The School shall have no further liability to us.
4.4. Continuation After Promotional Period: If the School does not cancel before the expiry of the Promotional Period:
- An invoice for the full annual Subscription Fee will be issued automatically on day 30;
- The School becomes legally liable for the full Subscription Fee for the then-current Subscription Term;
- These Terms (including the no-refund provisions in Clause 6) shall apply in full.
4.5. Auto-Renewal: Unless cancelled, the subscription will automatically renew for successive 12-month periods at the then-current rate. Renewal dates are calculated from the original registration date, not the payment date.
4.6. Cancellation After Promotional Period: Once the Promotional Period has ended, the School may still cancel at any time, but cancellation will take effect at the end of the current Subscription Term only. The full Subscription Fee remains due and non-refundable.
4.7. Fee Increases: We may increase the renewal fee with 30 days’ notice. The School may cancel before the renewal date if it does not accept the increase.
5. PAYMENT & LATE PAYMENT
5.1. Payment Trigger: The Subscription Fee becomes due and payable upon expiry of the Promotional Period (i.e., on day 30 from registration).
5.2. Payment Terms: Invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date (“Due Date”).
5.3. Payment Methods: Credit/debit card / bank transfer / direct debit.
5.4. VAT: All fees are exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the prevailing rate.
5.5. Late Payment — Interest: If payment is not received by the Due Date, we reserve the right to charge interest on the overdue amount at the rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily from the Due Date until payment is received in full. This is without prejudice to any other right or remedy. This is the standard under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
5.6. Late Payment — Suspension: If payment is not received within 14 days of the Due Date (i.e., 28 days from invoice), we may, without liability:
- Suspend the Premium Listing and remove it from public view;
- Restrict access to the School’s account dashboard;
- Withhold any enquiry data or leads generated during the subscription period.
5.7. Late Payment — Termination: If payment remains outstanding for 30 days after the Due Date (i.e., 44 days from invoice), we may terminate the subscription immediately without refund and pursue recovery of the debt.
5.8. No Set-Off: The School may not withhold or set off any payment due under these Terms.
6. NO REFUNDS
6.1. All Subscription Fees are non-refundable once the Promotional Period has ended. This includes, but is not limited to:

- The School deciding it no longer wishes to use the service;
- The School failing to provide or update Content;
- Dissatisfaction with the volume of enquiries or leads.
6.2. The School acknowledges that the Promotional Period is provided specifically to evaluate the service before any payment obligation arises. By continuing past the Promotional Period, the School confirms it is satisfied with the service and waives any right to claim a refund on the basis that the service did not meet its expectations.
6.3. The only circumstance in which no fee is payable is cancellation within the Promotional Period per Clause 4.3.
