Entry Requirements
Lightly selective. Assessment includes an informal taster day, a student interview, age-appropriate internal entry screenings from Year 1 upward (mainly for setting purposes), and a formal report/reference from the child’s current school head.
Key Dates for Admissions
Operates a flexible rolling admissions scheme based on space availability. Main entry points are at Reception, Year 3, Year 7, and occasionally for short-term boarding immersion slots. Main open mornings are traditionally held in October, February, and May. Early inquiry is recommended to secure boarding house allocations.
Results
Rated ‘Excellent’ in all areas by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), with specific recognition of its co-curricular and pastoral structures as standout national strengths. Famed for a historic culture that skips rigid school uniforms to maintain a relaxed, nurturing “home-from-home” atmosphere.
Leavers transition seamlessly to elite senior independent boarding schools at 13+. Graduates routinely win prestigious scholarships (Academic, Music, Art, Drama, and Sport) to destinations including Charterhouse, Eton College, Marlborough College, Canford, Wellington College, Harrow School, and Brighton College.
