Our Approach to Supporting Students with Additional Learning Needs
We understand that every learner’s journey is different, which is why we take a responsive approach to education. Our dedicated Learning Skills team works closely with families, teachers and our pupils to ensure they receive the individual support they need to succeed.
Inclusive Environment: King’s School fosters an inclusive and nurturing environment where every pupil is valued, supported, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. We have a dedicated suite of well-resourced rooms situated at the heart of the school.
Individualised Learning Plans: We develop tailored learning strategies that address our pupil’s unique strengths and challenges, ensuring a positive educational experience.
Specialised Support: Our teachers have experience in a range of learning differences, and provide one-to-one support, large group progress coaching and access to a range of educational and assistive technology.
Collaborative Approach: We believe in close communication with families to ensure we’re working together to support our pupils’ progress.
King’s St Alban’s holds an Entrance Day in February for all children looking to join in Years 3 to 6 in the following September.
During our Entrance Day, our teaching staff are on hand and will work with the children in small groups; it is not a question of pass or fail, but of whether your child will thrive at King’s.
Scholarships may be offered to candidates of outstanding academic ability on entry assessment to the school from Year 3 upwards. Scholarships are to the value of 10% of tuition fees.
The majority of Year 6 pupils progress directly to The King’s School, Worcester.
