We are delighted to be able to offer you an opportunity to attend an open event at Surbiton High Girls’ Preparatory School. These school open events allow families to experience the School in action and gain a genuine sense of our vibrant learning environment. Since places fill quickly, we encourage early booking. We will continue to add additional dates throughout the year.
Upcoming Open Event Dates:
Tuesday 9 June 2026 – 9.00am – 10.30am
You will have the chance to hear from our Head, Mrs McIntyre, and hear what makes our School such a unique and exciting place to learn. Our pupil Q&A panel will happily answer your questions about the School and share their experience. The presentation will be followed by a tour of the School, led by our Year 6 pupils.
Our Open Mornings are primarily aimed at pupils looking to join us in Reception or Year 3 for 2027 entry and beyond. However, we do sometimes have occasional places for other year groups, so we welcome attendance for families looking for other year groups.

- In-Class Accommodation: In the lower years (Reception to Year 2), every class operates with both a qualified teacher and a teaching assistant, ensuring early identification and preventing pupils from falling behind.
- Specialist Teaching: From Year 3 upward, subjects are taught by specialists. The learning support team collaborates directly with these teachers to adapt materials, provide visual aids, or adjust pacing.
- Individualised Lessons: Where explicit, structured intervention is required, the school offers individual Learning Support sessions. These are integrated into the school day but are billed as an extra charge per lesson.

Entry Requirements:
- 4+ (Reception): Gentle, non-selective “Stay and Play” small-group observation sessions.
- 7+ (Year 3): Standardised, age-appropriate entrance assessments in Mathematics and English (comprehension, creative writing, reading aloud), alongside a confidential report from their current school.
Key Dates for Admissions
- Registration Deadline: Monday 2 November 2026 (12:00 midday).
- 4+ Assessment Date: Saturday 7 November 2026.
- 7+ Assessment Date: January 2027 (exact date TBC).
Results
Consistently recognised as a premier all-girls preparatory school in the London/Surrey area with an exceptional pastoral care system.
The vast majority of girls transition smoothly into the highly selective Surbiton High Senior School at 11+, with some students moving on to other elite London day and boarding schools.
