We host several Open Mornings each year for you and your family to step into the heart of our school and see what makes us so special. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into our warm and vibrant community, where you’ll meet our passionate teachers and take a guided tour led by our wonderful pupils – who will give you an honest, first-hand glimpse into school life.
The morning begins with coffee and a warm welcome from our Head, Suzannah Cryer, followed by an immersive tour of our beautiful grounds and outstanding facilities. You’ll then have time to ask any questions over another round of refreshments, ensuring you leave with a real sense of what life at Highfield and Brookham is all about. At Highfield and Brookham School, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support is structured around a highly collaborative, whole-school approach that spans its non-selective nursery, pre-prep, and prep phases. Operating a graduated “Waves Model” of provision in line with the 2015 SEND Code of Practice, the dedicated Learning Support Department—working out of a specialised learning support block—closely monitors a diverse cohort of around 100 pupils with varied learning differences, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, speech and language difficulties, and neurodivergent profiles like ASD and ADHD.

Broadly non-selective. Rather than using high-stakes testing, admissions are based on an on-site classroom Taster Session (where gentle behavioral observations are made), baseline capability checks to ensure curriculum compatibility, and a formal progress reference from the headteacher of the candidate’s current school.
Key Dates for Admissions
Operates a rolling admissions system based on individual year-group vacancies. Formal open mornings take place across Autumn and Spring terms. Registration is highly recommended 12 to 18 months in advance for peak entry points (Nursery, Reception, Year 4, and Year 7).

Widely reviewed as an elite prep destination by the Good Schools Guide. Recognised for providing a perfect balance of countryside recreation, pastoral warmth, and deep academic rigor without unnecessary tracking pressure.
Transitions graduates to more than 30 top-tier UK senior schools at 13+.
