Entry Requirements

Entry into Preschool and Reception is primarily allocated by the initial date of registration. Entry for older year groups (Years 1–6) requires a formal taster day assessment involving age-appropriate cognitive ability tests, reading evaluations, and a review of previous school reports.

Key Dates for Admissions

Operates a rolling registration approach, but formal entry taster days for autumn term placements are usually run in the preceding spring term. Early inquiry is recommended as the school operates close to physical capacity.

Results

Highly praised by the Good Schools Guide as an energetic, stimulating environment that excellently pushes girls to be independent thinkers.

The vast majority of leavers (~75%) make the natural internal progression to the highly selective St Swithun’s Senior School at 11+. Top students routinely secure academic and sports scholarships. Alternative destinations include top regional grammar schools and elite independent day or boarding schools (e.g., Surbiton High, Cheltenham Ladies’ College).
