We are delighted to be able to welcome you to one of our Open Mornings in the Summer or Michaelmas Terms and invite you to join us for coffee followed by a tour of Papplewick with one of our boys. In this way, you will be able to meet many of the staff, see around the facilities, while also having the opportunity to quiz your tour guides about all aspects of their lives with us. Each tour will start with a meeting with the Staff and finish with a short discussion with our Registrar.
At Papplewick School in Ascot, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision is coordinated by a dedicated Head of Learning Support to meet the diverse educational needs of a mainstream, non-selective boarding environment. The school actively monitors a significant cohort of pupils requiring extra assistance for mild-to-moderate learning differences, typically focusing on targeted interventions for specific difficulties in literacy (English) and numeracy (Maths), alongside executive functioning or focus challenges.
Formally non-selective at early intake levels, prioritizing personality, kindness, and fit. Entry requires formal online registration, an on-site assessment/taster day involving minor academic baseline tracking (English, Maths, and reasoning), and a supportive report from the candidate’s current headteacher.
Operates on a structured rolling admissions platform based on year-group seating caps. Registration is highly recommended 12 to 24 months in advance, particularly for the main entry points at Year 3 and Year 4, or for securing highly sought-after boarding places.
Extensively recognised as one of the UK’s premier boys’ prep schools, previously winning Tatler’s Prep School of the Year. Highly praised for its outstanding academic scholarship record and a pastoral ethos that celebrates “letting boys be boys.” Notable alumni include screenwriter Richard Curtis and rugby international James Haskell.
Regularly achieves exceptional success transitioning boys into the most prestigious secondary schools in the country. Top leaver destinations (2021–2026) are led heavily by Eton College (64 boys), followed by Harrow School (21), Winchester College (20), Tonbridge School (12), Wellington College (11), Radley College (10), and Bradfield College (9).
