External pupils and their families will be welcomed by More House staff before being taken on guided tours of the school site and facilities by our current Year 12 pupils.
Exceptional and world-renowned. The entire school structure is purpose-built for boys with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) such as developmental dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), and associated attention-processing profiles (ADHD). It operates with a fully integrated, massive on-site team of Speech & Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists. Approximately 68% of enrolled pupils are funded via local authority Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Boys must demonstrate cognitive potential within the average or above-average range, but experience barriers due to specific learning difficulties (like dyslexia or speech/language processing challenges). Admission requires the submission of recent Educational Psychologist reports, professional speech/language assessments, and an EHCP (if applicable). Eligible candidates are invited for a specialized on-site assessment day to ensure they match the school’s teaching profile.
Operates a structured, yearly admissions cycle with primary intake points in September for Years 4, 5, 6, and 7, with a small supplementary intake for Year 12 (Sixth Form). Main group Open Mornings run every September and March. Due to extreme demand and strictly capped class sizes, the school recommends registering 12 to 18 months prior to the intended entry date.
Frequently rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted for both its academic and residential boarding standards. Universally praised by The Good Schools Guide as a flagship institution for boys’ SEND education.
Over 90% of sixth-form leavers progress directly into higher or further education, including competitive mainstream universities, specialized agricultural or technical colleges, high-tier apprenticeships, or vocational training lines.
