Entry Requirements

Year 7 Entry (11+)

This is the most competitive entry point, typically attracting four applicants for every available place.

  • Assessment Platform: Candidates complete online assessments in English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
  • The Interview: All candidates undergo a 1-to-1 interview. Pupils are encouraged to bring an “object of interest” or a piece of schoolwork to serve as a stimulus for discussion.
  • Holistic Evaluation: Selection is based on a combination of assessment scores, the interview performance, and a confidential reference from the candidate’s current Headteacher.

Sixth Form Entry (16+)

Entry is contingent upon a student’s GCSE profile and specific subject aptitude.

  • General Threshold: A minimum of 36 points from 6 GCSE subjects, including English and Mathematics.
  • Subject Specifics: Most A-Level courses require a Grade 7 in the relevant subject. For advanced STEM pathways:
    • Mathematics: Grade 7 minimum.
    • Further Mathematics: Grade 8 minimum.
    • Sciences: Grade 7 in the specific science or a 7-7 in Combined Science.
  • Four A-Level Pathway: Reserved for students with at least five subjects at Grade 8.
