Entry Requirements

Non-selective at early years. Entry into Nursery and Reception involves an observed “stay and play” session to gauge social readiness. Entry at older transition stages (7+ and 11+) requires age-appropriate internal assessments (English, Maths, and reasoning), a student interview, and a formal report from their current school.

Key Dates for Admissions

Operates a rolling admissions process based on available space. Registrations are encouraged up to a year in advance. Formal assessment and taster days for autumn term placements are typically coordinated throughout the preceding autumn and spring terms.

Results

Highly praised by the Good Schools Guide and rated exceptionally well in its recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) reports for balancing strong academic standards with top-tier sports and pastoral care.

Dual exit pathways. At the end of Year 6, about 30 pupils leave for elite local grammar schools (the school is the largest feeder to Dr Challoner’s Grammar School and The Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe). At 13+ (Year 8), leavers move to premier day and boarding senior independent schools, including Harrow School, Merchant Taylors’, Berkhamsted, Shiplake College, and Abingdon School.
