At Edgeborough School in Frensham, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support is structured through a specialised learning support hub known as the LEAP Department (Learning Acceleration Programme). Led by a dedicated Director of SEND alongside a team of highly qualified specialist teachers, the school actively monitors approximately 18% of its mainstream student body who require assistance for mild-to-moderate learning differences, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Following a continuous cycle of planning, teaching, and internal multi-sensory baseline assessments, the department implements customised personal Pupil Profiles that detail tailored in-class adaptations.

Entry Requirements
Focuses on finding a holistic “best fit” rather than utilising high-stress testing. Early years entry involves informal play-based taster sessions. Prep entry (specifically major entry points at Year 3 and Year 7) requires standard registration (£125 fee), an on-site classroom Taster Day, local baseline tracking checks, and a satisfactory academic progress report/reference from the candidate’s current headteacher.
Key Dates for Admissions
Employs a rolling admissions framework across the year depending on individual class caps. Major open mornings take place annually in October and May, with registrations for the peak September intakes ideally finalised 9 to 12 months in advance.
Results
Highly praised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) for outstanding academic enrichment and stellar pastoral care. It is celebrated for its progressive stance on the PSB framework.
Top selective senior boarding and day schools at 13+. Roughly 30% of Year 8 graduates transition directly up into senior partner Charterhouse School.
