At LVS Ascot Infant and Junior School, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support is managed by a dedicated whole-school Neurodiversity team operating within a non-selective, all-ability mainstream environment. The school actively identifies and monitors a sizable cohort of pupils with mild-to-moderate learning differences—such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, and ADHD—utilising early literacy tracking, baseline screenings, and staff feedback to build a clear understanding of each child’s learning profile. The foundational strategy focuses on empowering class teachers through continuous professional training to deliver effective, differentiated instruction directly within the standard classroom. Backed by extensive pastoral care—including access to a pediatric-trained school counselor and an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to navigate big emotions—the department prioritises building resilience, self-awareness, and confidence, using assistive learning technology to ensure that neurodivergent pupils develop the independent learning skills needed for a seamless internal transition to the Senior School.
Proudly holistic and broadly non-selective. Infant entry relies on informal, gentle observation-based stay-and-play sessions. Junior entry (Years 3–6) requires an online registration application (£100 fee), a comprehensive on-site classroom Taster Day, localized baseline assessments to verify curriculum compatibility, and a positive reference/progress report from the headteacher of the child’s current school.
Employs a rolling admissions model throughout the academic year subject to localised class seating caps. Main whole-school open days occur in September, November, and May, with early registration recommended 6 to 9 months in advance for peak September intakes.
Highly praised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) for outstanding pupil personal development, environmental awareness, and instructional value-add. Noted for its deeply nurturing, inclusive environment that successfully blends premium facilities with highly competitive fees.
The vast majority (approximately 90-95%) of Year 6 Junior School leavers seamlessly transition directly up into the LVS Ascot Senior School via internal familiarity days and baseline progression mapping.
